Dear God,

How good you are to teach us to count our blessings.  When we do, we are always led back to you.

You show us that blessings are not just big things like miracles, answers to prayers, and special gifts.  They are nature's wonder like a morning sunrise, a color-filled sunset, and a starry sky.  They can be a butterfly fluttering by, a giggling child, or a hug from a loved one.  They can be an unexpected phone call, a friendship card, or help from a neighbor.  Blessings come from near and far but they touch us, inspire us, or comfort us.

You are our greatest blessing, O Lord, for your love is sweeter than any gift, your grace is more merciful than any kindness, and your power is greater than any power on earth.  As we think of your tenderness toward us when we are hurt or suffering, we know we have received a blessing.  We know you have thought of us.  We know we are your child.

Thank you
for your
living presence
in our lives
that remind us
of blessings
from on high.
Thank you
for faith
that points us
to you
every time.
Thank you
for gifts
that bear
your handprint.

Love, Andrea
