Dear God,

It is easy to love family and friends, our community, and our nation for we are part of them.  Yet, who could fail to love strangers across the ocean, people who live on other continents?  Recently at church we sang This is My Song.  The first verse speaks profoundly to our need to love our neighbors near and far. "This is my song, O God of all the nations, a song of peace for lands afar and mine.  This is my home, the country where my heart is; here are my hopes, my dreams, my holy shrine; but other hearts in other lands are beating with hopes and dreams as true and high as mine."  Lord, I couldn't help but think of those who live so far away.

You constantly remind us that far or near, we are children of the same God.  You ask us to love them too like family.  They are like us with needs, hopes, and dreams.  You teach us to remember we share one planet.  We are one family because we are all made in your image, brothers and sisters to one another.  Help us to live as one, Heavenly Father.

Thank you
for reminding us
we are
one human family.
Thank you
for creating hearts
for loving many.
Thank you
for making us one.

Love always, Andrea
