Dear God,

Advent reawakens us to your gentle, tender spirit.  We come to life again because of a young girl who listened, a faith-filled girl who said yes to your spirit’s word.  Young Mary opens our hearts to the holy every Advent and I felt it as I gathered with the community of faith.  

This season gives hope, not just a hope for Christmas, but an eternal hope that makes life’s edges larger, giving breathing room, more space with which to meet you and find the way to a deeper life of faith and meaning.

I feel your power cleansing my thoughts, stripping away my arrogance, and making me open to the spirit’s voice.  Advent has a power all its own to give second, third, many chances to meet the savior.  The journey is wondrous when we too say yes.

thank you

for your

reawakening power.

again and again.
