Dear God,
You have given our covenant group one hour every Wednesday morning to do the work of faith. You usher us into silence where we quiet ourselves before you, where we sit down at your feet, and where we listen for your still small voice. You bring us your word where we are enabled to draw near. You meet us in prayer where we ask for your voice to speak to us. There you reveal the hidden secrets we hide behind when we are lost, lonely, sinful, doubtful or full of fear. You open the curtain of faith to show us yourself. What joy is ours together!
This morning we confessed our weakness, our inability to deal meaningfully with our nation's chaos, and our anger over recent events. We sought your face, your will, and your way. The voice of wisdom came to us as we listened and found strength and resolve to be the light that shines in the darkness.
Heavenly Father,
you are
the light
of the world.
Your light shines
no matter
how thick
the darkness.
Make us
the light
to shine
for others,
I pray.
Love, Andrea
