Dear God,

Each morning as I sit with theologians like Martin Luther, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, John Ortberg, Etty Hillisum, the Psalmist and more, they are calling to me to rise up to faith, to move forward with courage and to reach out to others in community.  No moment is free from challenge and the call to lead a transformed life.

I could never have imagined sitting in a circle of people whose lives inspire people decades or centuries later.  Yet, it is happening.  Their words, their faith and their hope astound.

Blessed God,
thank you
for the
great challenges
set before us.
Reshape us
for this hour
in the cosmos.
Make us yours.
