Dear God,

What does it mean to be a Christian in this crazy, divided world?  Perhaps it is because the world is crazy now or maybe because it is the season of Lent or maybe because the earth is erupting in this transitional time of winter to spring that I feel off kilter, off center.  It is as if the veil is lifting, the fog is slowly slipping away and the night is turning into day that causes me to get real, to see myself as I really am.

Yesterday after spending time with Christian friends in my devotional reading, you asked me to live one day with compassion.  Can you do just one day, Andrea?  You asked me.  Can you?  I felt the call to change this one day, to be compassionate in a place where I am not always.  Can you be compassionate one day?

Teach me
your way,
O Lord,
your way.
Guide me
to your side.
Change me
from the
inside out.

Love, Andrea
