Dear God,
We place our trust in you. As we read horrible stories of plane crashes, volcanoes exploding, storms raging, mass shootings, children being killed by drivers who didn't stop at the bus stop, we are overwhelmed with anger, sadness and even a sense of hopelessness. Yet, we place our trust in you.
With instant communication it is almost as if we are at the scene of each terrible tragedy. We imagine ourselves there and feel the pain of loss and sorrow. We pray for victims, families and communities. We pray for your help, your love and your mercy. We want to aid in the healing. But then perhaps that is why you gave us soft hearts to react, respond to tragedy.
Holy God,
thank you
for making us
for each other.
Give us
tender hearts
to think
of others,
to pray
and to help
in every way
we can.
May we
be your hands,
heart and feet.
Love, Andrea
