Dear God,

Your ways are always better than our own.  When we follow our own whim, we may do well or not.  But when we follow the leading of your Holy Spirit, so much more can occur.  Another dimension of life is possible.

Sometimes I work really hard to please, to give gifts, to bless others.  However, secretly down deep, I have expectations or conditions tied to my efforts.  Maybe it is for applause, appreciation or recognition.  Nearly every time I fail because my selfish expectations are too high and I am disappointed.  Yet, when I listen to you and follow without hope of any return, joy fills my soul.

Beginning and ending my day with you, walking with you throughout the day and listening for your still small voice, so many wonderful things come.  When you urge me to do something and I move with you, I know you and I will do great things.  And that is enough for me!
