Dear God,

Meister Eckhart joined my circle of friends this morning.  What a welcome addition.  A German mystic from the 13th century, his faith is summed up this way:  Nothing But God.  Nothing but God, of course, nothing but God.  Living, walking with and loving God all day long, every day is my own motto.  I am pretty poor at it but my soul operates this way deep down.

Listening to saints from former centuries keeps my faith fresh.  They question my courage, my love, my friendship, my will and my faith.  They lead me down uncomfortable paths at times so I can discover you anew.  They challenge me to follow you in every situation.  They stir me, awaken me and inspire me.  I am blessed to be in their company.

Holy God,
thank you
for bringing
special people
into our lives.
Thank you
for showing us
the way home.
Guide us
along the path
to truth,
love, mercy,
grace and beauty.
