Dear God,

There is goodness in the air when children commit to feed hungry people!  One child somewhere in America has given away more than 1,500 meals.  She knows there is a growing number of hungry people and she is determined to help them.

Inside the human soul there is a piece of you, O God.  That small piece inspires, challenges and guides us to do great things.  Even children like this one at the age of seven.  I remember a little girl of three who wanted to open a lemonade stand to sell drinks and give the money for pediatric cancer research.  By the time she was six and died she had given more an a million dollars to help sick and dying children.

Oh Lord, if only the whole world acted on the impulse of love!  The work we could do, the assistance we could give and the love that could spread would transform our world.  Why don't we?

Help us,
O God,
become all
we can be.
Show us
the way
to greatness,
not for ourselves
but for others.
Help us run
to the needy
with that piece
of you.
