Dear God,
There is always a saint in my circle of friends as we gather for devotions each morning. St. Teresa of Avila from Spain who lived during the 16th century currently sits with gospel writers, the psalmist, Isaiah, the prophet and others. Her devotion and love for you speaks daily of what it means to be a woman of faith and a servant of Christ. She challenges me in the ways I believe, think and live. I am so very grateful.
St. Francis of Assisi, St. Teresa of Lisieux, St. John of the Cross, to name a few of your faithful, have joined me in our sacred, holy time together. Their deep faith touches and inspires me but also adds to the spiritual conversation although they lived centuries ago. Their inquiries are as relevant today as long ago. They are honing and refining my own faith and challenging me in all the areas where I need correction, discipling and spiritual discipline.
My heart is full with your people, O Lord, all disciples whose love for you keeps me on my knees in prayer, The circle of friends you have brought me both astounds and blesses me.
Thank you,
O Father,
for the gift
of my circle
of friends.
Thank you
for their faith
and devotion,
for their questions
and insight
and for
their wisdom
and love.
Yours, Andrea
