Dear God,
In the cool of the early morning, I walked for the second day in a row. Interestingly, as I walked I noticed yards that needed mowing, trees that needed pruning and weeds that needed plucking. As I concluded my journey twenty nine minutes later, I realized on this beautiful sunny day, I had looked for the negative rather than the positive. Sadly, I missed the beauty of your creation.
Why do we often look at the underside of life instead of the topside? Why do we gorge ourselves with negative perspectives instead of positive? Why do we miss so much of what is good in life?
Forgive me,
O God,
for forfeiting
the opportunity
to celebrate
the beauty
of springtime.
Forgive me
for looking
for flaws
instead of
the majesty
of all
you have created.
Forgive me
for robbing you
of praise
as I walked
among colorful flowers,
majestic trees
and blossoming bushes.
I am sorry.
Love, Andrea
