Dear God,

I hate the horrible fighting in every corner in our world.  Innocent people as always are being stricken.  Many are dying.  When will we ever stop killing one another?

Lord, only you can change the interior of our hearts and minds.  Only you can excise bitterness and hatred from our DNA.  Only you can reshape and remake us.  We need a do over urgently.

How can we sleep at night forgetting all who are being hurt in our world?  Don't we have a responsibility to love and care for one another?  Although I can't physically help many people, I pray for them and their leaders but still I feel angry and sad by all the sorrow.

We all are capable of hating, dear Lord, even me.  I admit I hate President Trump with every fiber of my being because of all he has done to harm so many at home and abroad.  Yet, when hatred wells up within me, I recognize I am no different than anyone else.  I too need an exorcism.  I need you.

Cleanse us

from within,

Holy Creator.

Make us new.

Give us love

even for those

who persecute us.

Help us

figure out

how to live

as loving people.
