One woman pastor's continuing journey to find God in the mundane and the ordinary, the suffering and the celebration.
Dearest God,
Dear God,
Dear God,
What does it mean to really trust you? I mean really trust?
Dear God,
Dear God,
Dear God,
Dear God,
Today Lori received her new heart. A 43-year-old man died. At some point he signed a donor card. It is possible to rejoice and weep at the same time. We are doing both.
Dearest God,
You give us love for one another. You make that love grow. You give us a longing to share our lives in families and communities of friends. You are the author and creator of love. You first loved us so we could see how we could love one another.
Dear God,
Dear God,
Truly you are the light of the world. On any given day you bring light to your people. Your light is not like the sunshine; it is brighter, more radiant. Your light finds every crack of darkness.
Dear God,
Dear God,
Dear God,
Dear God,
Dear God,
Dear God,
We gathered to share our truths, our confessions and our hopes. In your presence on retreat we found you living and breathing within us. We found open doors, comfort and guidance. We drank in the joy that unfolded. We celebrated with you and one another.
