Dear God,

In worship we find peace, hope and guidance.  We realize we are not alone.  We have opportunity to pray alone and with others.  We hear your word which provides something for everyone.  We sing, yet another affirmation of our faith.  We lay out our fears and anxieties.  We always take something home.

Throughout the whole Bible there is worship.  While it is about praise, confession and acts of forgiveness and love, it is also about uniting together as one.  We don't have to reveal our beliefs, political affiliations, backgrounds or how we feel about certain issues; we simply come together as one to worship.  And in worship so much happens, so very much.

Holy God,

thank you

for opportunities

to gather

in your name.

Thank you

for worship

that allows

for release

and surrender.

Thank you

for gifts

that are deeper

and wider

than any others.
