Dear God,

Thank you for the yearly Thanksgiving Day celebration.  Why?  Because it refocuses our lives.  It inspires us to look at what we have, not what we don't have.  It challenges us to adopt a spirit of gratitude. It reminds us of blessings, large and small.

As I prepare the food to take to my daughter's tomorrow, I feel grateful for food, a stove and oven, for cooking skills and a desire to make favorite dishes for those I love.  I realize that gratitude changes my perspective and mood.

for the gift

of gratitude.

for giving me

a receptive heart.

for yearly holidays

that keep

reminding us

what counts.
