Dear God,

Sometimes we need a dark night of the soul in order to see the light of day.  I learned that lesson of faith last night.

My heart was troubled, my soul disturbed and my mind gobbled up by sad and negative thoughts.  I tried but could not seem to overcome them until I said to you, "Let your will be done, Lord, not my will, but yours."  Imagining a conflict, a fight, aloud I said, "I'm rooting for you, Lord."  With that, my mind quieted and I fell fast asleep.

Knowing you know more than I know and you have my best interests at heart, there need be no fight for my soul.  You always need to win, for in the end my life will be better, healed and helped. My trust in you will grow and my faith will deepen.  What more could I want?

I pray.
