Dear God,

We resist change!  We like things the way they are.  We push back when the idea of change is recommended.  We can even grow angry, stubborn and belligerent.

However, when life is despairing, don't we want change to come, ridding us of dark thoughts?  Don't we want spring to come following a particularly dreary winter?  Don't we want healing when we are sick of body, mind or spirit?  Only change can bring holy transformation.  

Life is all about change but we like it on our own terms; however, there is One who knows the best way for change to bring resolution to our troubles.  When we relent, let go and open ourselves, change can make significant difference in our lives.  When we seek you, we will find you waiting to help us, to change us freeing us up for our future.

Great Change-Maker God,

thank you

for reminding us

to count

on you.

Help us

to turn

to you

in every situation.

Change us,

remold us,

remake us,

we pray.
