Dear God,

We walk in faith when we trust you to love and help us.  When we believe your love is the greatest power on earth, we can not only feel love for ourselves but also find more love with which to love others.  

Some days, O Lover of our Souls, we cannot find enough love for ourselves let alone the world around us.  When we fail, disappoint or hurt others, we can turn on ourselves with disgust, self-loathing and hatred.  Lost ourselves, we can turn on others in despair and pain.

But when faith enters into our experience, we see life from an angle not before seen or understood.  When we can discover love for ourselves in our own pitiful condition, we can also see a way to release our anger toward others.  This frees us for love for all.

We need

your way

to love,

Mighty God.

We are frail

and powerless alone.

Help us recover

our own souls

and a

trusting faith

so we

can make

a way

to help others

find theirs,

we pray.
