Dear God,

Yesterday's solar eclipse reminds us of your divine power.  As humans when we see ourselves as dominant, we function to take credit, to rule over others and more importantly, forget who we are.  We are not gods, we are children of the Living God.  

Yesterday's miraculous event teaches us to behave as thankful children.  As we sat and gazed at the moon and the sun simultaneously, we were looking into your handiwork, not our own.  We were wowed as we watched the sky turn dark, the temperatures drop and the cicadas began to sing.  All this was your work, Creator God, your work, not our own.

But today is a new day, a day to remember you are God and to give praise and thanksgiving!
