Dear God,

When will we learn the lessons of faith?  When will we trust you enough to follow?  When will we take up our staff and begin the journey?

Sometimes life is hard, very hard.  Sometimes we are out of energy and hope.  Sometimes all seems lost and without purpose.  But then there is your voice, your love and your peace.  You are never dead or far out of reach.  You are here and now.  You long for us to buddy up beside you, to take your lead and to walk in hope.  Although we may not know the goal, purpose or outcome, you do.  You simply want us to walk with you until we discover our way.  Eventually we get to where you want us to be.

Help us

hear you,

O God.

Often we long

to leave

where we are

in order

to get

to where

we need 

to be

even if

we don't know

where that is.

Show us

the way,

take our hand,

and lead us,

dear God.
