Dear God,

The party started with two people, a mother and her daughter. Before I knew it my home was filled with party people. The sights and sounds of Christmas joy pervaded my own heart. As I gazed into my uncommon room, I witnessed the lives of people you have brought into my life. I knew their stories, how we had come together, what their struggles were. They had joined me in celebrating the wondrous gift of Christmas.

When my home fell silent after the party, I gave thanks for each one. This is what Christmas is about, I thought, sharing the mystical joy of a Savior's birth. As Christian friends we had celebrated together.

It is the season of mystery, the divine mystery of a wondrous love. Each one had carried in their portion and shared it with all the others. The rooms were filled with this wondrous love. Had we just been partygoers, it would not have been the same. The fact that we were believers in your sacred agape, we shared something so much more.

My hope and prayer is that the remnants of that love have remained here in my home. I pray that my husband and I will breathe it in and that all who will enter during this season will find this magical goodness. What good is agape love if it does not touch souls and inspire hearts?

I went to sleep happy.

Wondrous God,
in your presence
light shines,
love emerges,
joy bubbles up,
peace reigns.
Those who brought
their share
blessed me today.
Thank you.

Love, Andrea
