Dear God,

Today I thought of your joy and what it must be like from your point of view to experience love from your children. This afternoon I lay in a hospital bed with my four year old granddaughter suffering with a kidney infection. As we watched a movie, colored white sheets of paper, and ate popsicles she snuggled close to me. We talked. Every so often she would call me by name. Grandma. Grandma, you're so silly. Grandma, I love you.

As I felt her sick little body close to mine, I thought of what it must be like when we snuggle close to you, when we call your name, when we offer our words of affection and devotion. Trust is a beautiful thing.

May my
own life
bring you joy,
Gracious God.
May I too
lean in
to you
and give you
the joy
of my
whole trust.

Love, Andrea
