Dear God,

I take so much for granted. When I first awaken in the morning, I draw in a big breath of air, air that you have provided. When I crawl out of bed, I walk on two sturdy legs that you have provided. When I open the refrigerator, I take out breakfast food that you have provided. When I sit down beside my husband and cuddle on the couch to watch a movie, I hold on to the man I love whom you have provided. On and on it goes all day long, I take so much for granted.

I am surrounded by gifts and blessings that you have provided. All that I have, all my abilities, talents and skills have been provided by you. Everywhere I look, I see all that you have provided.

Sometimes I forget and claim credit for a garden, a gourmet meal, a new craft or work that I have done. I fail to remember that I can only do what I do because you have given me both the ability and the opportunity to do so. If you were to take away all that you have provided, there would be nothing, absolutely nothing. If you were to withdraw the air, sun and moon, life would cease to exist. I would be nothing.

Let gratitude
be first
in my desire
to follow you.
Humble me
by reminding me
that you
have provided
all that is
around me.
Make me thankful,
a witness
to your
many gifts.
Help me
to give
to others
at every level
of life.
Teach me
to share
all that
I have.
Make me
a never-ending
fountain of gratitude,
I pray.

Love, Andrea
