Dear God,

I think I caught a glimpse of you today at the hospital as I stayed with my daughter who had surgery. I found compassion, mercy and understanding at her bedside.

Who originally manufactured the living well of compassion? Who could drink from it and find healing without you?

Not only do you work to heal wounds, injuries, cuts and bruises, you are the healer of wounded souls, broken down by life circumstances. Your love oozes out into the world through willing recipients of your many gifts. Nurses, doctors, technicians, even maintenance workers carry mercy to needy patients. I know because I watched it.

Source of Life,
I thank you
for your goodness,
your help,
love and care.
All around me
I witness
persons full
of your
agape love,
giving out
cups of
tender compassion.
Be blessed,
Gracious God,
with gratitude
from those
who have received
your tender care.

Love, Andrea
