Dear God,

Thank you for the fruits of the earth! Two weeks ago you lead me inland to a small orchard where I picked apples that had been beaten up by a July hail storm. I loved the experience as I picked in a drizzling rain while the gardener owners and I shared the joy of fruit together.

Today as I preserved applesauce with those apples, I remembered and gave thanks for your wonderful edible gifts. Cooking the apples, allowing the aroma to fill our home, brought me great joy as I placed them in the sieve, churned, simmered, and filled jars placing them in the water bather. After cooking the prescribed time, I lifted them out and set them on the table to cool and seal. That inspired me to pray giving thanks.

Master of the Universe,
Creator of All Good Things,
thank you
for the gifts
of life.
Thank you
for placing
your fingerprint
on each one.

Love, Andrea
