Dearest God,
What a grand experience it is for the blind to see!
How often have I walked in blindness incapable of seeing life through your eyes? Way too many times as I resisted or clung to old beliefs and attitudes that built walls through which I simply could not see.
Yet, when the scale fell from my eyes permitting me to see your glory, I blinked and blinked again in disbelief that such an incredible gift could be mine. Last weekend I watched the blind see again. Beautiful women of faith on retreat who like me had stumbled around in the dark caught a glimpse of the divine when your light shined upon them. One after another they began to claim your gifts, blessings all around them. Small things became heartstones, revelations of your living presence. As they picked them up making them your own, heartsongs began to form in their mouths and they began to sing your praise.
Wondrous God,
full of surprises,
thank you
for eyes
to see
the wonders
of your creation.
Thank you
for lifting
our veils
giving us
full view
of your
sacred presence.
Thank you
for joy
bubbling over.
Love, Andrea
