Dear God,

How can it be that love can grow so deep and wide?  How do you do it?

When Stella and I spent time building fairy houses at the base of a tree in our backyard, I felt love grow.  Although we know there is no such thing as fairies, allowing our imaginations free reign was fun as we worked together gathering fairy house materials like leaves, twigs, acorn hats, berries, wheat stems, tree bark, and other natural outdoor items.  Her joy made me love that little girl all the more.  The fact that she invited me to join her in building a fairy city filled me with joy too.

I realize an invitation to join another person in a fun activity can build love or it can nurture it.  The time spent doing something meaningful together gave opportunity for love to make a memory.  And making the memory caused love to deepen its roots.  What can I say but thank you?

Generous Living God,
thank you
for small things
and big ones too.
Thank you
for gifts
of your spirit
that make
our love grow.
Thank you
for your presence
that makes
me aware
of your grace.
I love it;
thank you.

Always and forever yours, Andrea
