Dear God,

Living in a flow of trust is the only way to live life; why do we try so hard to fight it?  We squabble, make alternative suggestions, and drag our feet.  Yet, you remain with us because you are the God of love.

Waiting gives us time to reevaluate life.  It makes us stop and think.  It forces us to re-prioritize.  It teaches us life lessons.  It makes a way for us to think about faith and all its benefits.  It brings us face to face with you.

Trusting is the only straight path in life.  Anything else takes us down dark holes, on risky twists and turns, and can be injurious to health at every level.  Trusting offers a level of peace that nothing else can.

Teach us
to reach
for faith
every time,
O Lord;
make us worthy
of your affection.
Your mercy
is great.
