Dear God,

How do we say goodbye with grace?  How do we surrender what we love without harboring ill will and resentment?  How do we walk away and begin a new life somewhere else?

More than anything, we want to do your will. We want to follow your leading.  We want to go if you say go. We want to stay if you say stay.  We want to say yes when you ask us to do something even if it is outside our comfort zone.

I never thought we would ever have to say goodbye to our church.  I never thought we would come to a place where we didn't fit.

What I know to be true is when we trust you, you guide us to fulfill your dream for our lives.  Often our dreams, our wishes and desires are too small.  Yours are always larger than our own.  When we listen and trust and then step into your plan, we find our way, your way really, and we marvel at your mercy.

While we wander waiting for your plan to be revealed, I pray we will walk in grace trusting you to be our guide.

Gracious God,
thank you
for your
compassionate care.
Thank you
for taking
the lead
and pointing us
in your direction.
Thank you
for giving us
signs and messages
so we
stay in touch
with you.
We are grateful.

Love, Andrea
