Dear God,
Sometimes we lose our way. We wander too distracted to notice the landscape has changed. By the time we figure out what has happened we may be so far from our destination that it is hard to return alone. The greatest discovery of all is to find you accompanied us on our misguided journey. Returning is not difficult when lead home by you.
How often have I wandered away? I may have been too busy, too upset, or too something to reroute myself. When I discover I am up a creek without a paddle, I just plop down where I am and ask for your help. I confess I started out on my own without inviting the greatest navigator the world has ever known. I get lost because I leave the tools of my faith at home where my troubles began. Suddenly, I realize faith is not about doing my own thing but rather walking beside you on the spiritual adventure of a lifetime. You remind me a pilgrimage with you is better than any trip I would choose to take on my own.
Thank you
for valuable lessons
of faith.
Thank you
for your presence
that never
leaves us
even when
we enter
shady and
dark paths.
Thank you
for grace
that takes
our hand
and leads us home.
Love, Andrea
