Dear God,

Just as you hold our past, you hold our future.  As we make our way in life, you accompany us through all the transitions.  You urge us to grow and realize our potential.  You ask us to take steps toward fulfilling your will for our lives.  You remind us to look and listen, knowing we are in your care.

Today as I cleaned and cleared the basement and shed, I sighed recognizing how cluttered life can become.  When we allow unnecessary things to enter into our soul, they rattle around until we do something about them.  Because you know the effect such things can have on our well being, you teach us to trust you to help us rid ourselves of them.  You give us tools, a broom, a cloth, and a trash bag so we can clean our souls, surrender our stuff, and bag them up so you can renew, restore, and refresh us.

Teach us
to trust you,
O Lord.
Show us how
to clear
the way
for renewal,
restoration, and refreshment.
Let your
spirit blow
new air
into us,
I pray.

Love, Andrea
