Dear God,
Your word reminds us of your many gifts. St. Paul told Timothy, his son in faith, "God's Spirit fills us with power, love, and self-control." Such reminders speak to us when we forget or lose our way.
Power, you give us power to use for good, to overcome, to conquer, to assist, and to help us serve others. We can share power to work together so we can celebrate what you have done for us together. Love, oh, what we can do with love. We can mend relationships. We can heal. We can warm hearts and souls. We can fill empty vessels. We can affirm, strengthen, and empower others with love. We can forgive, offer grace, and restore human lives. Self-control gives us the ability and capacity to be patient, useful, and focused. It can also direct us in decision making, building strong foundations of faith, and inspiring us to be understanding. All three gifts can transform, make new, and provide peace for every day living.
Holy God,
thank you
for teaching us
life lessons
of faith.
Help us become
good beneficiaries
of your
wondrous gifts.
Point us
to you
so we
can learn
at your feet.
Love, Andrea
