Dear God,
You are kind and merciful. Each day you reveal yourself to us through a child's smile, a colorful sunrise, a bird song, a helpful insight, or a healing touch. Those prized moments not only give us hope, they open us more deeply to faith.
This morning spring erupted in my household. I don't know what it was except that I felt the nudge of rebirth, a new beginning, and the need for a spring change. I stripped beds of blankets, sheets, and comforters. I put away my winter décor. I changed my towels. I cleaned and cleaned and then pulled out signs of springtime and placed them around my home. I felt a renewal in my soul.
You constantly lead us to transformation. You make ways for us to leave the doldrums of yesterday for the brightness of tomorrow. You whisper promises to us and give us opportunity to change ourselves. Reminding us you are the god of yesterday, today, and tomorrow, you show us the path toward renewal. You give us tools, determination, and a chance to breathe in new life. You do this because you are indeed kind and merciful.
Loving God,
thank you
for spring cleaning
in our souls.
Thank you
for challenges
that remind us
we do not have
to remain
the same.
We do not have
to continue
to live
in our
self-made ruts.
Thank you
for the brightness
of a
new day.
Love always, Andrea
