Dearest God,

Very early this morning the scene outside our bedroom window caught my eye.  In the darkness I stood and gazed out at the full moon and the long, dark tree shadows across the gorgeous white terrain.  I was full of wonder at the picturesque landscape knowing you paint beauty all the time.

So often we miss the hidden treasures of creation.  We walk on by distracted by life's many challenges.  The day comes and goes without any real connection to the beauty that is all around us.  We fail to pause, to notice, and to savor little moments with you and your creative works.  But when we do, when we stop, when we blink and see, my, oh my, what images appear before us.  Like a great mystery we see, we really see not only what is before us but also who created what we see.  Our whole being is humbled as we stand before the great master and give thanks.

thank you
for scenes
and sounds
that fill us
with wonder
and awe.
Thank you
for your creation
and all
it has
to offer us.
Thank you
for silent links
that connect us
to you.
