Dear God,
When good things evaporate right before our eyes, we assume the worst. Not so, my young granddaughter convinced me.
Early this morning my granddaughter Stella and I traveled to the beach to listen to contemplative music and to respond to it through sacred dance and art. I had danced and was journaling and coloring in my journal when Stella finished her art work in the sand. She invited me to look at her creation because the tide was rising and would soon wash it away. After I had admired the beauty she had created, I mentioned the tide. She smiled and said, "I thought about that and knew it would be washed away but it's okay because it is just God taking it into him."
What wisdom!
Wise God,
you give
your message
to young children
to teach
us lessons
in life.
When our beliefs
and practices diminish
our understanding
of the world,
you often
send children
to expand
our minds.
Thank you
for teaching me
this morning
through wise Stella.
Love, Andrea
