Dearest God,
So often you come to us through music. You pass through the hard exterior of our soul and begin playing songs for the soul. Instruments and voice enter through and cause our insides to awaken, stir, and tremble. You bring heat to the cold places and cool refreshing relief to the hot. You bring calm to the chaotic and peace to the hopeless. You breathe new life into us.
This afternoon I participated in an aqua strength and conditioning class. The music there was fast and feverish. I felt pretty exhausted as I stepped out of the pool and dressed into my yoga apparel. When I stepped inside the classroom and began to unfold my yoga mat, the sound of a single flute called to my weary innards. During the next hour I stretched and pulled, bringing relief to my tired, worn out muscles. But more than that the quiet sound of meditation brought me back speaking to every part of me. I welcomed it, bringing you in close. For the whole hour I sensed your wondrous presence doing your work of healing.
Wondrous God,
Healer of the Soul,
thank you
for your
mercy work.
Thank you
for your kindness.
Thank you
for the music
of the soul.
Love always, Andrea
