Dear God,

I have always said when I die I want to have gratitude on my lips.  I want to remember and give thanks.

As I sat down in my pew today and we started to sing, I started to smile.  I realized one of my great blessings is the church.  Why?  For many reasons.  When we come together on Sunday mornings we come to sing.  We are no longer many voices but one.  We add our voices to those around us.  We lift up the word, the melody and harmony, even the dissonance that somehow conveys who we are together.  As we sing we feel the power of your love and mercy.  We drink in the joy you have for those whose desire is to love.

When we walked out the door following worship, I was full, so very full of you.

Holy God,
thank you
for the gifts
of your spirit.
Thank you
for joy
that never ends
when we
make ourselves
part of you.
Thank you
for joy
that is
never ending.

Love always, Andrea
