Dear God,

You are our peace, our refuge, our safe haven in time of trouble.  You stand with us reminding us of your promise to be with us.  When the rest of our life seems to be collapsing, you whisper to us, "Fear not, little one, I am with you."

So much of the world is troubled right now.  Wars, poverty, violence, fear, sickness, greed and corruption threaten all the time.  It is easy to fall prey to hopelessness and despair.  Lost and lonely we are tempted to fall in line with the many who see no answer and no hope.

We forget you, Lord; we forget your promises.  We go our way believing our situation will not change.  Yet, you still offer us hope in the desert.  You feed us living water that can quench our thirsty souls giving us comfort. One spark of hope can hold us until the storm passes.

Be our hope,
O Lord.
Help us
to trust
rather than
give up.
Give us courage
to face
our difficulties.
Show us
the way
to peace,
I pray.
