Dearest God,
This morning's devotion in Sacred Space brought a valuable insight. We have the power to make the past the present. We can make yesterday's pain today's sorrow. We can keep alive past wrongdoings successfully keeping our mind, heart, and soul in restless chaos. We have the ability to bring past discontent, resentful beliefs, and spiteful thoughts into the present moment so we can prohibit our healing and return to wholeness.
A few minutes reading challenged me to see the truth of myself. When the author asked the question, I had to answer truthfully. Who am I? He asked. I am a complainer, a moaner, a seeker, a pilgrim..." I paused after that because I already had my answer. Who am I indeed?
Any self reflection requires a search of the soul. When honest we have to look at all that abides in the soul, not just part. We may not like what we see. In fact, we may abhor what we see. However, we never wander into our soul alone. The creator of the soul goes with us. The pilgrimage aids us in our search for you and the whole truth.
Emmanuel, Emmanuel,
God with us,
God in us,
God around us,
lead us
to you
and to
the truth.
Make us
your own.
Give us courage
to leave behind
the ugly debris
of the past.
Push us
to a future
of bright promise,
I pray.
Love, Andrea
