Dear God,

"My eyes have seen your salvation."  Simeon prayed to you giving thanks for Jesus and then he surrendered himself into your hands.  This story always touches me deeply.  I look forward to reading it in December every year.

You open our eyes to you, O Lord; you allow us to participate in your salvation.  You challenge us to keep our eyes open to see your salvation.  Every time a miracle occurs, an insight comes, a healing repairs, an unexpected grace appears, or hope is born, we witness your salvation.  You save us over and over.  You give us your unconditional love and bless us with faith.

Every year Simeon is a witness to Christian faith.  He calls to us not from the grave but from eternity to turn our eyes toward you.  He knows the benefits, the utter joy, and all the blessings that come when we open our eyes, our ears, our mind, our heart, and our soul to you.  He offers the same to us.

Bless you, Lord,
and bless
your servant Simeon.
Thank you
for those
who inspire us
long after
they have passed
from death
to life.
May we
bless you
with our faith.

Love always, Andrea
