Dear God,

There is such unrest in our world!  We look all around us wondering who we can trust.  Anxiety, anger, and fear find their way into our souls.  Sometimes we even resign ourselves to hopelessness and despair. 

But you, O Lord, you offer much more than the world!  You promise us your living presence, a quiet, calming presence who can take away our anxiety replacing it with hope, comfort, and peace.  You direct us to green pastures and waterfalls of living water.  You invite us to lie down in peaceful bliss.  You give us pure, clean water to drink to quench our unforgiving thirst.  You provide a gentle hand on our shoulder and renewed strength for our step.  We begin to rise up, to breathe in courage, and to walk steady for we know you are with us every step of the way.  You whisper, "Trust in me, lean on me, walk with me."  When we allow our faith to awaken every part of our sleeping soul, we find what we need for every day living.  All that is left to do is praise and give thanks.

O Lord,
help us never
to forget.
You are
a kind
and compassionate God
who cares
for all children;
for we
are all
your children.
May you
be blessed forevermore.
