Dear God,
Thank you for the gift of Lent, the time of examination, evaluation, and conversion. Thank you for all blessed times when we must pause to reflect, to stand close to you, to listen, to repent, to find hope, to take courage, and to be transformed and transforming. Only when we stop and realize we need to assess life and the way we are living it can we ever find our way to reformation, reconstruction, and renewal.
You come to us most often in the gentle breeze of your spirit. Sometimes when we are busy or distracted, it takes a storm to get our attention. However you come to us, Lord, we know it is time to lay down our distractions, sit quietly, and be alone with our Maker. May your find us ready, willing, and able.
Heavenly Father,
how good
you are
to us.
How you
bless us
with a conscience,
moral character,
and a desire
to purify ourselves.
Although we
are smudged,
smeared with sin
and unforgiveness,
you still come
with grace
and mercy.
Let Lent
do its work
on us,
we pray.
Love, Andrea
