Dear God,

During morning devotions you reminded me how many times your compassion and kindness has healed.  You showed how your mercy has power to penetrate the deepest wound and bring warm healing to it.  I think of countless people I know where your presence, your living presence made its way into souls and there you ministered. 

We need to begin every new day with praise and thanksgiving, for you, O Lord, have blessed us.  You have healed us and poured your oil of gladness over us.  You have welcomed us into your life and made us family.  You have breathed the air of your spirit into us and you have led us to the well of living water.  You have resurrected us from the abyss and taken us to the light.  Who could not give thanks?

wondrous gifts
of your spirit.
Thank you
for the
extravagant gifts
of your
holy compassion
heavenly mercy.
Thank you
for healing us.
