Dear God,

Yesterday morning what joy flooded my soul as I drove to worship.  All along the route, flowers were lifting up their bright, colorful heads.  Trees were proudly displaying their beautiful, new blossoms of red, pink, and white.  The sun shone magnificently against the blue sky and white, billowy clouds.  On this Palm Sunday, it was if everything was wearing their best to welcome the king.

Ever-Creating God, through nature you teach us lessons of life, of faith, hope, and courage.  You point to creation to show us the way, to remind us of our need to grow, to show our colors, and to bring beauty into the world.  You bless us so we may bless the creation around us.

for the blessing
of this
Palm Sunday day.
Thank you
for the
exquisite beauty
and the reminder
of our
own need
to grow beautiful.
Rid us
of the death
that clings
to us
so we too
may bloom
for you,
I pray.
