Dear God,

Sacred spaces, where are the sacred spaces in my life? the author asked.  My mind wandered as you brought to mind many of those places hallowed by your hand...my contemplative garden, Lourdes grotto, Assisi, Christ in the Desert Monastery, the Pines Campground, my living room, Carmelite Monastery, solitary place near the Sea of Galilee, Grandma Hughes' farm, spiritual path, so many places where your hand touched, transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary.  These are spaces where I enjoy your living presence.

You give us the gift of sacred spaces but also the memory of those places.  We do not have to present there in order to dwell in your presence.  The memory alone brings your face, your voice, and your love.  As we wander in our mind, you take our hand and walk with us to those sites where divine and human have met and dwelled together.  Like the angels I can only say, holy, holy, holy.

Eternal God,
we turn
to you
when we think
sacred spaces.
You have
anointed us
with joy
and thanksgiving.
How blessed
we are.
Thank you
for sacred memories
where your
living presence
still dwells.
May our voices
forever praise you.

Love, Andrea
