Dear God,

Is it really time to prune again, Lord?  Is it time to come under the knife?  Is it really time to cut away the dead places, the broken and the overgrowth?  Of course it is.

The tease of spring reminds us it is indeed time to deal with the overindulgence of winter.  As we sat back growing lax rather than doing the work of faith, it is now time to reflect upon what we added that needs to be surrendered, what was lost that needs finding and what we need to see that we have been blinded to.  It is time for the cutters in the hands of the tender God.

Blessed Lord,
be gentle
with us.
Make a way
for us.
Help us
be honest
with ourselves
so we
can make ready
for the cut.
