Dear God,

If the computer is not plugged in, it loses power until it stops dead.  Simply plugging it into the electrical outlet gives countless hours of power.

As I leaned down to plug in my computer after leaving it on unplugged overnight, your voice whispered to me, the spiritual life is the same.  If you do not plug yourself into the ultimate energy source, you will lose energy and finally fizzle.  The world will go dark, pitch black.  On the other hand reconnecting to you brings the light back on, the power re-energizes and hope comes back to life.

Some things are simple truths.  A decision to reconnect to you can change everything almost instantly.  It doesn't mean our difficulties will suddenly be over.  What it does mean is we will have the spiritual and emotional energy and power to help us in our difficulties.  We will have the ability to have a new perspective, fewer bouts of anxiety and fear and extra resources enabling us to move forward with hope and confidence.
