Dear God,

Thank you for holy moments that cause us to change direction, turn and move toward you.  These can be difficult experiences in life that unsettle, anger and pain us; yet, they are opportunities to reflect, think again and exchange one behavior for another.  These can be the holy moments of transformation.

I have to confess that I am living in the middle of difficulty.  I hate what is happening in Washington DC where legislators are selfish, self-serving and cold.  I hate it when people are marginalized, hurt, abused, forgotten, and mocked.  Almost daily I am disturbed.  At the same time it has been a call  to pray, to act and to speak.  Perhaps the call of transformation is for the whole world, including me.

Change me,
O God,
help me see
who and
what you see.
Help me love
who you love.
Help me understand
all your people.
Change us,
renew us,
transform all
of us,
I pray.
