Dear God,
Each morning as I sit with my circle of friends, I listen and learn. I hear the voices of long ago, St. John of the Cross, Saint Theresa the Little Flower and biblical writers. They speak because they have so much to say. As I hear one voice and then another, I think of visions, words, locutions St. John of the Cross describes them, and sounds you have brought to me throughout the years. Me, why me, I ask?
You are always at work, Holy Father. You have so much to say to us, so much you want to show us, so much to share with us in the spiritual life. Daily you bring the sunshine; it may be behind clouds but it is there nevertheless. So why would it be difficult for you to bring us more than that?
There is no one who cares more deeply for us than you. In our celebrations and our failures, your love and mercy meet us. You know we can be more than we are. By your power and grace you transform us. And in the process our love for you deepens, our faith increases and our desire to bless others grow.
Thank you,
Loving God,
for your
holy presence.
Thank you
for reaching out
to us.
Forgive us
when we
turn away.
Incline our ear
to you.
Make us
your own,
I pray.
Love, Andrea
